Our Sponsors

Without your support, this would not be possible.

In our last blog post we wrote about how Code Club Aruba started. If you read it, you would know that Robert Croes of Antraco Plaza was the first person who supported us by providing a free space for us to use. Here, we held our pilot project. During the pilot there were many lessons learned.

The biggest lesson we learned was that making a curriculum is difficult. We spent many hours thinking what to teach, in what order, with what tools, and how fast do we go over these topics. And after all that time invested, our  curriculum & power point presentations were still sub-par.

With this lesson learned, we knew we had to come up with a better solution on how we can teach more efficiently. This is when we decided, purchasing a
curriculum online would be a better way to continue.

Online
curriculums are not cheap. After weighing platform functionality and price, we landed on codecademy.com, an easy online platform combined with a curriculum and code project to practice. This was exactly what we were looking for. However, it is $299,- per account per year, hence, we needed sponsors.

Between May 2021 and June 2022 we had to:
– Start a foundation

– Look for a space where we can scale the amount of students we can host

– Find mentors to help us host

– Find new students

– Find sponsors to pay for the 15 licenses we bought.

Ultimately, in order to make this all possible; we would like to thank the following sponsors.

– ProFrame

– Futura Labs

– Setar NV

– Terrick Mansur

– Micheal Sade

– Illiene Mansur

– Giandra de Cuba

– Patrick Beke
